Long Islanders have a special relationship with the water that surrounds our home. We love our beaches, we love our local seafood specialties and we particularly love our sailing! The native americans enjoyed the water with their dugout canoes and today we enjoy the water in our state of the art sailboats (and motor boats). Our sailing history dates back to the first schooners that landed on our shores and we still have a few of them lying around. You can charter one of these amazing ships right here on Long Island - The Historic Schooner Mary E (shown in the photo at left) is a 75 Foot Authentic Clipper Built in 1906 -she is docked in Greenport and you can visit her, and even have a sail on her - Long Island's Clipper Schooner Mary E
